Three Great Methods of Germinating Cannabis Seeds.

Here is our beginners guide on how to germinate cannabis seeds, along with three of the best methods.

Before you start germinating your cannabis seeds, it’s important to make sure they are of high quality. Look for seeds that are dark in colour, firm to the touch, and have a tiger-stripe pattern. It’s also recommended to soak your seeds in water for 12-24 hours before beginning the germination process.

Paper towel method:

  • Wet a paper towel with distilled water, making sure it is not dripping wet.
  • Place the cannabis seeds on one half of the damp paper towel.
  • Fold the other half of the paper towel over the seeds.
  • Place the paper towel in a dark, warm place such as a cupboard or on top of a seedling heat mat.
  • Check the paper towel every 12-24 hours to make sure it stays moist but not soaked.
  • Within 2-7 days, you should see the seeds crack open and a taproot emerge

Starter or rockwool cubes method:

  • Soak the starter cubes or Rockwool cubes in water for a few hours to ensure they are moist but not saturated.
  • Place the cannabis seeds in the pre-made holes or crevices in the cubes.
  • Keep the cubes in a warm, dark environment with high humidity, such as a seedling dome or a plastic bag.
  • Check the cubes daily to make sure they are staying moist.
  • Within 2-7 days, you should see the seeds sprout and grow roots.

Directly planting seeds in soil method:

  • Fill a small pot with high-quality potting soil, making sure it is light and fluffy.
  • Make a small hole in the soil (about 0.5 inches deep) with a pencil or your finger.
  • Place the cannabis seed in the hole and cover it with a thin layer of soil.
  • Water the soil lightly, making sure not to oversaturate it.
  • Keep the pot in a warm, dark area until the seedling emerges.
  • Within 5-10 days, you should see the seedling break through the soil.

Remember that each method has its pros and cons, so it’s important to choose the one that works best for you and your specific needs. Good luck with your germination process!
